Kayaking the Port Charlotte Beach Complex

One of the great things about Charlotte County is all the parks the county has worked to create. The Beach Complex is surely one of the most developed. It has tennis, volleyball, half court basketball, horseshoes, bocce ball, a swimming pool and lots of tables and grill areas for picnics and such, plus a two bay boat ramp and, of course, a kayak/canoe off loading area in spittin' distance of the Charlotte Harbor and beyond.

The Beach Complex offers easy access to the Charlotte Harbor Estuary, with access to both open water as well as sheltered creeks and lakes. This is ideal habitat for Herons, Egrets, Osprey and many others.

Like most of Charlotte Harbor, the shoreline is mangrove forest. These trees are at home in salt and brackish-water environments and play an important role in the health and stability of the estuary. They provide nesting areas for shorebirds, and are an essential nursery for many species of fish and invertebrates. Our area is home to the Red, Black, White Mangrove and the Buttonwood.

Join us for a kayak trip of the area or rent a kayak and explore on your own. Either way, you'll find we have some really nice near coastal kayaking to offer. Call (941) 255-3686 or email to schedule your adventure today.
